LAKE CITY, Colo. – The BLM is seeking volunteers for the National Public Land Day Event on Devils Creek Trail near Lake City on Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The trail needs heavy maintenance to reduce erosion.
“It will be a fun day of rewarding hard work,” said Jim Lovelace, BLM recreation planner.
Volunteers should come prepared with sturdy shoes, work gloves and water. The staff will meet volunteers at the Devils Creek Bridge at 9 a.m. and lunch will be provided.
“Volunteers and good partnerships are the only way we can get projects like this completed,” said Lovelace. “We appreciate the publics’ willingness to help maintain trails throughout the Gunnison Field Office.”
