U.S. Junior National Team finishes 9th at 13th FINA World Junior Championships
INDIANAPOLIS — The U.S. Junior National Synchronized Swimming Team earned top-10 finishes in the team and duet competitions at the 13th FINA World Junior Championships in Volos, Greece.
The U.S. finished ninth in the team finals Saturday with 153.5609 points. Russia took gold with 168.1266 points, followed by Japan (160.6472) and Ukraine (159.5809).
Lorraine Hack (Olympia, Wash.) and Sandra Ortellado (Walnut Creek, Calif.) took 10th in the duet with 154.4954 points. The duet scored 83.600 points in their free routine and 70.8954 points in figures. Russia won the event, followed by Japan and Ukraine.
Thirty-two countries participated in the World Junior Championships Sept. 12-16.
