September 12: New Table Mesa Pedestrian Bridge to be Set in Place
DENVER – The US 36 highway will be closed at the Table Mesa exits overnight on Wednesday, September 12 so that the contractor for the Regional Transportation District’s (RTD) new Table Mesa pedestrian bridge can set the bridge in place over the highway. The highway will be closed at the Table Mesa exits, in both directions, starting at 9 p.m. and will reopen at 6 a.m. Thursday, September 13. The ramp onto eastbound US 36 will close at 7 p.m.
Traffic will be detoured over the adjacent eastbound and westbound frontage roads. Drivers are advised to comply with posted detour signs.
This work is part of RTD’s FasTracks plan for the US 36 Bus Rapid Transit project. The bridge will connect the Park-n-Ride structure to eastbound bus connections. The Table Mesa pedestrian bridge will open in March 2013 and help save an additional three-to-five minutes in each direction for bus commuters traveling between Denver and Boulder.
