CSP Apprehends Homicide Suspect
At approximately 6:30p.m., after reviewing a BOLO sent out from the Colorado Information Analysis Center (CIAC), Colorado State Troopers located the suspect’s vehicle eastbound on Interstate 76 at milepost 134 (about 10 miles east of Sterling). Ahigh-risk traffic stop was conducted with an officer from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident on I-76 at milepost 153 (about 28 miles east of Sterling).
IRVINE, CA (August 31, 2012): Today, at 1:30 p.m., Irvine Police Officers responded to 17 Dartmouth for a report of suspicious circumstances after family members found a significant amount of blood inside the residence. Officers conducted a search of the house and found the 60 year old male resident, identified as Ernest Joseph Bruno, deceased inside a room from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
Detectives identified a possible suspect, the decedent’s 21 year old son, Steven Joseph Bruno. The preliminary investigation revealed the two recently had an argument regarding money issues. The suspect, who was living with his father, was believed to have fled the state in his father’s vehicle. The suspect vehicle information was provided to our law enforcement partners. The Colorado Department of Public Safety located the vehicle and suspect in Logan County Colorado. Steven Bruno was taken into custody without incident at 5:30 p.m. PST.
