RTD Seeks Applications for FasTracks Citizens Advisory Committee

Applications due September 21

DENVER, September 5, 2012 — The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving a three-year term on the volunteer FasTracks Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC). Deadline for applications is September 21, 2012.

The 17-member committee advises RTD on matters relating to the implementation of the voter-approved FasTracks program. CAC members receive updates on the progress of the FasTracks program, provide region-oriented advice to the RTD Board of Directors, review and comment on RTD’s annual FasTracks Review Report to the Denver Regional Council of Governments, and promote public awareness and understanding of the FasTracks program and its implementation.  The committee holds monthly work sessions and meets quarterly at locations around the metro area.

Applicants must reside within RTD’s service area; demonstrate an interest in public transit and/or RTD’s FasTracks program; and possess professional expertise, previous community service, and experience in working with local jurisdictions on regional issues.

Application letters should include a brief statement of interest in serving on the CAC, specific qualifications, highlights of related experience and expertise as well as a resume. All letters must be received electronically at Dale.Honor@rtd-denver.com by close of business Friday, September 21, 2012.
