Colorado Springs School District 11 Notification to Parents of Students with Disabilities
Pursuant to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, 20 U.S.C. 1400 et seq., School District 11 must notify parents of a student with a disability when personally identifiable information is no longer needed to provide educational services to the child.
If your student withdrew or graduated from the District five years ago, his or her records may be under evaluation for destruction. If you, as the parent of a student with a disability, would like to request access to and/or copies of your child’s records prior to destruction, please contact the Colorado Springs Records Management Center at 719-520-2079.
If we do not hear from you by September 30, 2012, your student’s special education records may be permanently destroyed, pursuant to the school district’s records retention policy.
