Attempted child abduction occurring in Woodland Park

On September 13, 2012 the Woodland Park Police Department received a report of a attempted child abduction.  The child is a 14 year old female who was walking on the sidewalk alongside W Kelleys Rd today around 2:10 p.m. when a black colored vehicle pulled up alongside her and stopped in the roadway.  The child reported the driver of the vehicle then opened the passenger side door of his vehicle and motioned for her to get into the vehicle.  The child grabbed her cellphone which caused the suspect to drive away at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was last by the child driving northbound on Chippewa Tl. The child is safe and is currently in the care of her mother.

The suspect is described as a younger age male, no other description available.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black in color Toyota 4Runner, 4 door, with dark tinted windows and Colorado license plates that were either really dirty or covered.
