|The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve on the Department of Human Services (DHS) Advisory Commission. Applications for the open positions are due by August 31.
The DHS Advisory Commission has openings for an at-large representative and a District 4 representative. District 4 includes the southern part of Colorado Springs, Security, Widefield, Fountain, Fort Carson, and the area south to the Pueblo County line.
The DHS Advisory Commission reviews and provides formal recommendations regarding the Department of Human Services’ program operations and program budget. Members assist in enhancing community partnerships, establishing human services priorities in the county, and monitoring the coordination and implementation of the Department of Human Services’ initiatives and mandated services.
Members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for three-year terms and are limited to serving two consecutive terms.
