USA Pro Challenge Stage 5 Finish More Than Spokes and Wheels

USA Pro Challenge-COS Stage 5 Local Organizing Committee has announced a week of pedaling and playing leading up to the stage finish on Friday, August 24th.  Mark the calendar for August 18-25 to attend a “Fun Ride” with USA Cycling, nightly rally rides, a criterium on the Stage 5 circuit, arts and entertainment events, and a Stage 5 after-party at Acacia Park.  Visit RideStage5.com or see details below.


Events and Details:

“Fun Ride” with USA Cycling: USA Cycling will host the Pro Challenge “Fun Ride” on Saturday, August 18 at 8:30 AM.  Cycling fans will be able to experience a portion of the Pro Challenge course as part of a 20-mile ride throughout Colorado Springs, starting and finishing at the USA Cycling headquarters.  Lunch will follow the ride.  Visit USA Cycling to register.


Rally Week Rides:  Join with cyclists from across Colorado Springs for free, nightly rides starting Monday, August 20 finishing with a huge community ride Saturday, August 25. Come for your chance to win Skybox passes to the Stage 5 finish, two trips to Las Vegas, a New Belgium Fat Tire cruiser bike, and more! All rides start at 6:00 PM at America the Beautiful Park and end at a different downtown destination each night.  Bike valet will be available.

9:00 AM to 10:30 AM SRM VIP Ride  with pro cyclist Mario Cipollini Ride through Garden of the Gods and Downtown $500 Registration through USA Cycling Elite VIP experience with pro cyclist: package includes two VIP tickets on race day and a jersey
10:45 AM to 2:00 PM Ride Stage 5 Criterium Downtown Circuit $25 Registration through USA Cycling Competitive and fun categories (men’s, women’s, citizen’s, and fun ride)
11:00 AM to 6:00 PM Finish Festival Festival Area Downtown Free Open Event Live music with Funkiphino and Martini Shot, beer garden, kids zone, expo and food vendors, big screen live coverage, BMX demo, Mobile Music Project
5:00 PM to 6:00 PM Not-So-Pro Challenge: Adult Trike Races Finish Line on Tejon Street Free Exclusive to Bar Teams
6:00 PM to 10:00 PM Stage 5 Afterparty: Live Music, Drink Specials, and Fire works Acacia Park and Downtown Establishments Free Open Event Martini Shot at Acacia Park 6-9 pm, Funkiphino at The Mansion 7-10 pm, Fireworks 9:30-10 pm from parking garage at Kiowa and Nevada
