London Olympic Cyclist Tim Duggan in Colorado Springs

2012 LONDON OLYMPIAN AND CURRENT U.S. PROFESSIONAL CHAMPION CYCLIST TIMMY DUGGAN TO APPEAR IN COLORADO SPRINGS THURSDAY, AUG. 2

 

Timmy Duggan of Boulder, Colo., fresh off competing in last Saturday’s London Olympics, will make an appearance in Colorado Springs, Thursday, August 2.  He will be the first 2012 U.S. Olympian in Colorado Springs and will talk about his Olympic Games experience as well as the upcoming USA Pro Cycling Challenge which routes throughout Colorado, August 20-26, with a finish leg of this Tour de France style race in the Springs on August 24.

Duggan is fresh off racing in the Olympics last Saturday where he was featured prevalently in the cycling road race, helping teammate Taylor Phinney to 4th overall. He won the U.S.A. Cycling professional road race championships in May. He will wear the Stars and Stripes jersey, which denotes U.S. champion, in the upcoming USA Pro Challenge.  The 29-year-old holds a unique story. After almost abandoning the sport in 2008 due to a severe injury suffered during the Tour de Georgia, he has rebounded to have one of his best years in 2012. In 2011, he finished 7th overall at the Tour of Utah and went to become the Most Aggressive Rider for the USA Pro Challenge.
