On August 22, Korean Superstar Pop group 2NE1 will hold a live Q&A session on Facebook from 5 PM until 5:45 PM. This is a monumental moment for the group, as they will become the first Asian musicians to ever visit Facebook headquarters and to have a live Facebook chat with fans worldwide. The Q&A session will be produced with Facebook’s new initiative, Facebook Live, and fans will be able to ask 2NE1 questions and watch the group as they answer them. Facebook Live have held live Q&A sessions with President Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Madonna and Katy Perry.
Having only been together for 3 years, 2011 proved to be a breakthrough year for 2NE1 when they were voted “Best New Band In The World” by MTV Iggy. They also received “Song Of The Year” honors at Asia’s M.net Awards for the 2.7 million selling #1 single “I Am The Best.” The “I Am The Best” music video has achieved over 50 million views online and 2NE1 has sold an astonishing 30 million digital downloads to date. As part of this summer’s New Evolution tour, 2NE1’s first global tour, CL, Dara, Bom and Minzy will travel to 10 cities in seven countries, including two shows in the United States – Newark, New Jersey on August 17, and Los Angeles on August 24.
