Denver Council Passes MMJ Advertising Restrictions

On Monday evening, the Denver City Council gave final approval to an ordinance that would prohibit all outdoor medical-marijuana advertising in Denver. The Council approved the ordinance 12-0, with one member absent.

Under the ordinance, medical marijuana businesses will still be allowed to advertise in targeted venues such as newspapers, radio, and online.

Quote from Michael Elliott, Executive Director of the Medical Marijuana Industry.

“We are glad to see that the ordinance passed. We believe it appropriately balances the interests of the city and the medical marijuana community.”

MMIG is a Colorado-based trade association that advocates for reasonable medical marijuana regulation at the local, state, and national level.
