Fracking is the drilling process the natural gas industry uses to extract natural gas from shale rock. It involves pumping millions of gallons of water, sand and an unknown chemical cocktail into the ground to create cracks in the deep shale formations and release the natural gas trapped inside. This process is currently used all over Colorado including near Walsenburg and Trinidad. Learn more about the process that is affecting our air, land, and water by attending the “What the Frack!?” presentation.
