Waldo Canyon Fire Assistance

Rent and Utility Assistance, Supplies, Food, Prayer and Counseling, and More Available at Mercy’s Gate

Mercy’s Gate, one of the largest human services organizations dedicated exclusively to Colorado Springs, will be open for normal business hours starting Monday, July 2.

While it has been easy to find shelter and food thanks to the efforts of the Red Cross, Care and Share, and other organizations, our fire-impacted neighbors often have a variety of needs that are not limited to meals and short-term housing. Mercy’s Gate’s food pantry is open, as are our other normal services which include rent and utility assistance, supplies, prayer, medical support, and clothing vouchers. We are all hands on deck to help those affected by the fire.

While we are accepting food donations, we can particularly use financial support for our non-material services. We invite the Colorado Springs media to help us in spreading the word about these services so that those who need them can easily find them, and those who can help support their neighbors can find us to do so. 100% of donations go to help Colorado Springs residents.

Food pantry address: Calvary United Methodist Church, 4210 Austin Bluffs Parkway.
All other services are available at our Rocky Mountain Calary location: 4285 N. Academy Boulevard.
Hours: Monday 4-7pm, Wednesday 9am-12pm, Thursday 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm, and Friday 9am-12pm. We may be open other hours as needed.

For information, spiritual counsel, or prayer, call 277-7470 x.124. Phone messages are being answered as quickly as possible.

“This is an opportunity for the community to come together as one, to be strong, and to serve one another,” Executive Director Julie Wilson said. “Mercy’s Gate is here to come alongside those in need and partner with others working to help this community at this time of dire need.”
