This free, community-building event will again show off the forward-thinking and innovative nature of various organizations, businesses, schools and individuals in our community. The What IF…Festival features the best of the region showing off their best…highlighting tech-enthusiasts, art-makers, garage inventors, performers, Do-It-Yourself-ers, scientists, culinary magicians, original musicians, robot builders, urban farmers, engineers and other thinkers and tinkerers. Each of these unique participants will share interactive projects, original performances, processes to demonstrate, hands-on experiences or inventive experiments. Be a part of it!
The Festival site location, with its familiar footprint of a six block area of lower downtown including the Pikes Peak Center, the Pioneers Museum, the Plaza of the Rockies and the Sun building campus; will include Cascade Avenue closed off for the Festival between Colorado Avenue and Vermijo Street. In addition, there will be five performance stages located throughout the Festival area, with a variety of performances ranging from music to dance, poetry to culinary magic.
Booths and interactive experiences will range from robots to bicycles to solar ovens to inflatable planetariums to street chalk art to dance and movement. The What IF…presentations and Experiences will be an imaginative array of the best of what the Pikes Peak region can offer in innovation. Combined with the full schedule of performances, unique food vendors and the inaugural “Bizarre Bazaar” retail tent; this ALL AGES / ALL FREE event will again bring our community together and prove once again to be a popular destination for families and individuals alike.
