Excitement was in the air on May 5th as the residents of Sunny Vista began their move into their new home. All their furnishings were in place awaiting the most important final touches — the residents!
Silver Key Senior Services answered the call to action. Using two of their handicap-equipped buses (not to mention their 41 years of experience transporting seniors), they arrived to move the residents to their brand new digs.
The atmosphere was lively and the residents were well prepared. The staff drivers from Silver Key arrived on Saturday morning complete with their manifests directing them to place each senior in their new room.
Since 1971, Silver Key Senior Services has fulfilled their mission to serve our aging population with dignity. Our founder, Betsy Myers Burroughs, wrote in a Christmas letter, “There must be a silver lining to the cloud around aging.”
Weekdays at Silver Key, 40- drivers, many of them volunteers, assist seniors from their homes to medical appointments and shopping. Often, these unsung heroes are the only person a client can call when they no longer are able to drive.
On this sunny day in May, the drivers were heard exclaiming, “Welcome home — to Sunny Vista”!
