Clark Appointed to NACo Board‏

Commissioner Sallie Clark, Vice Chair of the El Paso County Board Of Commissioners has been appointed by NACo President Chris Rodgers, to serve on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Counties (NACo). “NACo is the voice of America’s Counties,” noted Commissioner Clark, “and now more than ever, considering our size, the importance of our military installations to our community, and the amount of federally owned land in our county, it’s critically important that we take advantage of every opportunity to have our voices heard in Washington.”
Commissioner Clark serves on several key policy setting committees and task forces within NACo. These include the Justice and Public Safety Committee, the Large Urban Counties Caucus, the Veterans and Military Services Task Force, Cyber Security Task Force and the Arts and Culture Commission. Commissioner Clark was also elected to serve as Vice Chair of the Women of NACo. “Working alongside county leaders from across the country it is a tremendous opportunity to learn more about innovative solutions to problems we face right here in our community, to share best practices and lessons learned as well as tap into the research and legislative expertise of NACo’s staff which helps all counties in their efforts to provide services to our citizens in the most cost-effective manner possible.” Clark concluded.
The National Association of Counties (NACo) is the only national organization that represents county governments in the United States. Founded in 1935, NACo provides essential services to the nation’s 3,068 counties. NACo advances issues with a unified voice before the federal government, improves the public’s understanding of county government, assists counties in finding and sharing innovative solutions through education and research, and provides value-added services to save counties and taxpayers money.
