United Way of Pueblo County, the Pueblo West Chamber, the Pueblo West Metro District and Snap Fitness hosted the 5th Annual Liberty Point 5K Run/Walk in coordination with the Pueblo West 4th of July festivities on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. This year’s event was sponsored by Health Access Pueblo, Parkview- Pueblo West Emergency Services and KPHT 95.5/KCSJ NewsTalk 590.
More than 500 participants took part in the annual race, with Justin Ricks, 32, coming in as the 1st place overall male finisher with a time of 16:12.8 and Jessica Kleven, 16, taking 1st place overall in the female division with a time of 20:27. Last year’s 4th Annual event had an estimate of more than 500 participants, representing an increase of about 200 from the previous year.

All proceeds from the Liberty Point 5K Run/Walk benefit United Way of Pueblo County funded programs. Last year, programs funded by United Way touched the lives of over 111,000 people in Pueblo County. This is made possible through generous contributions to United Way, along with proceeds from events like the Liberty Point 5K Run/Walk.
