The Pueblo Zoo is proud to announce the grand opening of a new food concession and guest amenities building, the first phase of a larger planned black rhino exhibit. The 1,300 square foot concession and adjoining restrooms is the first building in the simulated African village that will, within the next few years, include an exhibit of black rhinoceros. To celebrate the completion of the first phase of this project, the Pueblo Zoo and the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting on Saturday July 28th at 10:00am.
The completion of this phase also marks an exciting new partnership between the Pueblo Zoo and Victoria’s Catering and Deli who will be managing the new concessions. As part of the Grand Opening, all day on July 28th visitors can visit the concession stand to receive a free sample of items from the new and expanded menu.
The new facility, located near the African Lion Exhibit, is the product of city and county support, public donations, and the support of over 20 vendors and contractors that have contributed to the project.
The Pueblo Zoo is a non-profit organization and is an accredited member of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA). Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for you, and a better future for all living things.
During the Summer, the Pueblo Zoo is open seven days a week from 9am-5pm. After Labor Day, the Zoo’s hours are Monday through Saturday 9am-4pm and Sundays 12pm-4pm. For more information, call 719-561-1452, visit www.pueblozoo.org, or Join us on Facebook.
