Public Meeting July 25: Draft Park Management Plan

Colorado Parks and Wildlife will host a public open house to share the recommendations in the Draft 2012 Cheyenne Mountain State Park Management Plan. The public open house is scheduled for Wednesday, July 25, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in Colorado Springs at the Crowne Plaza in the Foothills Room, 2886 S. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, Colo., 80906.

Scheduled for completion in late 2012, the draft Cheyenne Mountain State Park Management Plan outlines a 10-year planning framework for the entire 2,701-acre park. The plan will also provide a foundation for many aspects of park budgeting, development and administration.

Open house meetings have been held at key junctures in the park’s planning process. The purpose of this second meeting is to inform the public of key recommendations outlined in the draft plan and solicit feedback prior to developing a final management plan.

The concepts included in the draft management plan and meeting materials will be available for review after July 25 on the park’s webpage: http://parks.state.co.us/Parks/CheyenneMountain/ManagementPlan/. If you have any questions regarding the planning process or this meeting, please email plan.management@state.co.us or contact Mitch Martin, Cheyenne Mountain State Park’s manager, at 719-576-2381.
