Philharmonic Awarded $90,000 Grant

Colorado Springs Philharmonic receives $90,000 grant award from The Mary K. Chapman Foundation

The Colorado Springs Philharmonic is pleased to announce that it has received a $90,000 grant from The Mary K. Chapman Foundation (chapmantrusts.org). The grant will be dispersed over a three year period beginning with the 2012-13 Concert Season.

The concert season grant continues The Mary K. Chapman Foundation’s tradition of giving to community, civic, and human services programs in the Colorado and Oklahoma areas. Founded in 2002, The Mary K. Chapman Foundation was created to continue the philanthropic emphases of its namesake in perpetuity. President and CEO of the Philharmonic, Nathan Newbrough, said “It’s a privilege for the Philharmonic to serve the people of Colorado Springs, and we see this as a major endorsement of that work. It is inspiring to see the trustees’ passion for creating great community, and we’re more than grateful for their trust in our work.”

Primarily supporting the Philharmonic Pops series, the award will allow the Philharmonic to continue to offer high value, premium orchestral music in the intimacy of Colorado Springs’ Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts. The 2012-13 Pops season will feature six concerts, highlighting the music of Led Zeppelin, Disney, Casablanca, John Williams, Broadway, and more.
