Members of the Otero Junior College Cheer Club will be hosting their 3rd Annual Summer Youth Cheer Camp on July 24-27. The camp will be held in the OJC Student Center Banquet Room from 6-7:30 p.m. each day. The camp is open to youth age 4 to 14.
According to Debby Nicholson, Cheer Club sponsor, the Cheer Camp will be an exciting three-day session designed to introduce youth to the joys of cheerleading. She said that participants will be divided into age appropriate groups where they will get personal attention.
“Our camp will introduce participants to the basics of cheers, chants, motions and dance. I think participants will be amazed at how much they will learn in three days,” said Nicholson.
The OJC Cheerleading Camp staff will consist of Cheer Coaches Deb Nicholson, Lisa Pantoya and Victoria Miller as well as members of the OJC Cheer Club.
Cost of the camp is $30 per person and includes three evenings of instruction plus a t-shirt and the opportunity to participate in the halftime performance at OJC’s first soccer home game.
Registration time is scheduled for Tuesday, July 24 beginning at 5:30 pm. in the OJC Student Center, 2001 San Juan Ave. in La Junta. For more information or early registration contact Deb Nicholson at 719-384-6889.
