Departamento de Policia de Colorado Springs

1.       Beginning early this morning after the Aurora shooting, patrol officers began increased patrol checks of our theaters.  We are continuing to do that.

2.       We are in the process this afternoon of having either a Crime Prevention Officer or someone from Patrol make personal contact with each theater to discuss utilizing extra duty officers, basic security precautions, etc.

3.       The two theaters in town that currently utilize extra duty have requested that we double our extra duty present over this weekend.

4.       Over the course of the next few days, Crime Prevention Officers will follow up at each theater with a more formal CPTED focusing on the type of incident that occurred in Aurora.
