Working ranch cowboys make trip to big city to “Ride for the Brand”

Colorado Springs (CO) – June 10, 2012 – Imagine a day of wild cow milking, ranch bronc riding, sorting and branding….to most people this sounds like a week of hard work. Not to the 60 cowboys competing in the Ride for the Brand Championship Ranch Rodeo June 30th at the Norris- Penrose Events Center.


This event showcases the working ranch cowboy in competition format. 60 cowboys from 12 ranches who traveled from 5 different states will compete in 6 events in a winner take all showdown. This face paced, high stakes event showcases the best of working ranch cowboys and shows us all that real ranches are alive and thriving today. This year the event also includes a Chuck Wagon cook-off and supper at 4:30 p.m. Tickets for the supper are $20 and can be purchased onsite or online.


The fun doesn’t end when the dust settles, live entertainment by special guests Syd Masters and the Swing Riders begins immediately after rodeo.


To kick off the festivities, at high noon on June 29th the Longhorn Cattle Drive begins downtown at Tejon Street. Hundreds of longhorn cattle will be driven through the streets of Colorado Springs giving fans a glimpse of yesteryear.


The “Ride for the Brand” Championship Ranch Rodeo kicks off at 6:30p.m., Saturday, June 30th at the Norris-Penrose Events Center.
