Colorado Springs (CO) – You might feel the pounding of hooves and smell the dust, taking you back to the days of yesteryear when cattle outnumbered folks in town. The annual Longhorn Cattle Drive will kick off the Ride for the Brand Championship Ranch Rodeo on Friday, June 29, 2012 at high noon on Tejon Street in downtown Colorado Springs.
Over 40 Longhorn cattle will be driven by real working ranch cowboys from 12 ranches, in town to compete on Saturday night at the Ride for the Brand Championship Ranch Rodeo at the Norris-Penrose Event Center.“The cattle drive brings to life the spirit of the old west” said event director Mark Bukowski, “it’s also a great way to welcome the working ranch cowboys to our great city”.
The cattle drive has become a Colorado Springs local favorite, with folks lining the streets to watch the cattle make their way through downtown.
