Imagination celebration offers a variety of workshops for kid´s summertime creativity

Colorado Springs, CO – This summer, Imagination Celebration is offering workshops for children from pre-Kindergarten up through sixth grade at their Imagination Space facility. The workshops, of various subjects and dates, are scheduled during the weekdays when local children are out of school on summer break. The puppetry workshop also includes  two Saturday mornings. The cost of each workshop is only a requested one dollar ($1.00) donation to cover the cost of supplies. The majority of the workshops meet one day per week through the month of July and the first two weeks of August.

The subject of the workshops range from puppetry, where kids get the chance to design and create their own puppets, and put on a puppet show; to workshops featuring painting, drawing, sculpting and the importance of visual arts’ relationships to other important school subjects. The rediscovered technique of quilling is also featured, producing beautifully intricate and artful patterns of paper on paper.

The workshops are taught by a group of art interns and art teachers from around the region. Workshop classes are small to afford one-on-one time with the workshop instructors, so it is encouraged to reserve a spot in a workshop soon. Please note that the first session of the Puppetry workshop featuring sock puppets is being held the last week in June. The second session featuring paper mache puppets is held the following week.
